Waiting or Worshiping

I spend each Saturday evening in the beautiful city of Antwerp with my church fellowship. We've been meeting together to study 40 Days of Purpose and it's been great. We changed locations last week to the Antwerp Seafarer's Centre. Those of us involved come early, set up our rented room, and wait for the people to come - not necessarily "on time." We've been averaging around 12-13 people, but on Saturday, time kept ticking and we kept waiting.

After waiting outside to direct people where to go,
our project leader walked in and said, "no more waiting, let's pray." And we started with a song. In the middle of our worship and praying the door opens and our number doubled as a group of people walked in!

I've learned an important lesson through this. We tend to wait for things to happen before we worship, when really we should start worshiping no matter what. (Wow...that's a lot of "w's" in a sentence.) But seriously, what would transpire if every time, when doing His work, we decided to worship, instead of waiting to worship? I guess church planting is teaching me some lessons. It's not about waiting for the people that will come, but our being obedient to Him.

My advice to you today...turn your waiting into worshiping...and wait to see the results!
