Alumni & Summer Activities

It was great to be with these dear friends at the recent CTS graduation. Daniel & Columbe are from Ivory Coast and Daniel is a CTS alumnus. We worked together on the Student Ministry Committee for two years during Daniel's time as a student, and I got to know this family well. They are now working in Belgium and continuing studies (Columbe is working on her law degree!). They are active in preaching & teaching ministry, and will one day return to Ivory Coast where they see themselves involved in pastoral ministries. This is what making disciples is all about...building relationships, praying for former students, encouraging one another along the way, and anxiously anticipating all that God is going to do in the lives of His children!

On another note, it's been an interesting past month of activity. With the board meeting,
graduation & all that goes with it, then helping friends to move, welcoming two teams to our campus, and this week I am moving to my apartment, and immediately traveling to France to begin one month of intensive French language study. I'll be studying at the CAREL institute in Royan, France. Thanks for your prayers as I attempt to be at least conversational with our French-speaking students by the end of the summer. Merci beaucoup!

We are joined in ministry this week by a group from People's Church in Salem, Oregon. They have helped us greatly by working on the plumbing in the girl's dormitory. Thanks People's Church for sending this team to us!
Additionally, a study tour of French culture & society have returned to CTS. Every two years, Dr. Robert Turnbull of Evangel University (Springfield, MO), brings a team of students to our campus for study & ministry. They just arrived yesterday and I look forward to getting to know these students, and renewed fellowship with Bob & Charlotte Turnbull.

Thanks for your prayers for all of my summer activities, and those occuring on campus at CTS.
