I turned on the TV this morning to the reports of the London bombings. I sat stunned for several moments, then found myself following reports throughout the rest of the day. Although I'm not in Europe at the moment, these days events still affect me. How? It causes me to pray even more than I already have been....for Europe - especially London right now...for the Hope of Christ's love to come to those who did this and those who were affected...for comfort to those who lost loved ones. I also pray for world leaders that are doing all they can to combat terrorism. However, I also know that Jesus is going to return to this earth soon. He promised us that He would...but he is delaying His return so that as many as possible come to know the Hope that only Christ can bring. (He is willing that NONE perish!) Hope of eternal life, hope of peace, hope of a life changed. No other "god" can bring this hope. Jesus is the only one who can change a terrorists heart. We need to pray the prayer of Luke 10 that God would raise up more workers to go and tell the story of Jesus and His love for all mankind...but we must also be willing to go - to ask God to use us each day to make a difference in the life of someone, in some way. May an act of terroism cause the church to pray and to go - not just to sit complacently in the pews of a local church, but to put our hands and feet to work for Him!
